This 1997 model (4 litre, V8) was previously owned by television presenter and author Michael Hogben. In the three years I have owned the XK8, I have cherished it most highly. Initially I had servicing conducted by my local Jaguar dealer, but on joining the Jaguar Enthusiasts Club, I have had all work undertaken at Bristol's Auto Classico (autoclassico.co.uk) some 40 miles away - which I hope illustrates the value I put on Michael Mercer's workmanship. The private plate is included in the sale; certainly the paint work would give you no clue to its actual age. Two years ago the automatic gearbox was reconditioned by Bristol Transmissions (gearboxesbristol.co.uk) at a cost of over £2100. Other work has included a new water pump; but other than that, just general servicing.The rear Pirelli tyres were replaced last summer (£200 each) - and have seen very little wear (under 5000 miles). The front mid-range Marangoni tyres were replaced last month at a respectible £100 each, plus wheel alignment. 6CD changer in boot, leather electric seats, ice-cold climate control air con, power mirrors, 5 speed automatic, sports mode, cruise control, ABS, traction control, stability control, trip computer, power steering, Lots of service history, original manuals, dealer stamps, all keys.
